# Password as plain text in the \`repository.config\` file. Why?

Hi,

I’ve been testing [Kopia.io](http://Kopia.io) for a few days, and I’m curious (or, to be honest, shocked) that the password for my Hetzner Storage Box is being saved in plain text in `repository.config` file.

Could someone explain why it works this way and, if possible, how to disable saving it in plain text?

I use the Kopia GUI for Windows.
