@kopanla nice list, but `tar` is _no_t a compressed format, `tgz`, `txz` are  
Further what I can think of: `mp3`, `ogg`, `aac`, `flac`, `alac`, `war`, `gif`, `jpg`, `jpeg`, `png`  
Office extentions like: `docx`, `xlcx`, `ods`, `odt` and more
