I am new to Kopia and would like to know if there is a workaround for not having to save cleartext AWS secret key in the config file or in the environment variable. I would like to implement it as a backup solution to a client machine where I do not want to expose my AWS secret key.
It sounds like you need to use the Kopia repository server. The client would connect to your server, which can then be used to send the backups to AWS.
Thanks, while reading about it in Repository Server | Kopia it states that it should be in LAN that all clients can connect to. In my case the clients are different machines on web.
I don’t see that as a hard requirement, as long as they can talk network to eachother, the distances don’t matter.
