Yesterday I did a benchmark of kopia 0.4, 0.5, 0.6 and o 0.7 on 20 GB data set backing up to filesystem repository.
It’s really exciting to see Kopia 0.7 completing the backup so much quicker than 0.6 because of splitter performance optimizations which removed major bottleneck on local filesystem reads.
For 10 x 2GB file scenario we went from ~100s to ~30s. For 100 x 200MB it’s ~80s->20s, for 1000 x 20 MB it’s ~80s->25s
