What database does Kopia use?

I see there is a reference to a data base here. what is the self contained database that kopia use ?

My assumption is that Kopia needs to utilize a local database to manage its metadata and track snapshots. Assuming that its handling the deduplication and efficient management of backups ?

Or is there no database because of content-addressable storage CAS ?

Not exactly… CAS refers to the method of storing chunks of data very efficiently and it also allows for Kopia’s deduplication capabilities. The handling of the structural data is done using manifests. So there’s really not actual database involved.
