MacOS daily backups not running

I recently discovered Kopia (KopiaUI) which basically “checks” all the boxes for backup I have been looking for - FOSS, E2E, incremental, dedup, etc. However, I want it to run daily backups at a specified time on my Mac desktop - a time when the computer will often be sleeping. Having reviewed some other posts, it does not appear that Kopia has the ability to wake the system to run the backup. I did try scheduling daily wake-ups in Terminal (right before the backup should run), but it is not working for me (the daily backups are still not running). Is there any fairly simple fix? Any suggestions?

Thanks.

Yes it is known issue with KopiaUI.

Workaround is to run your backup using cmd - either crontab or launchd.
