Backup to external hardrive

New user here. And apologies - I realise that this may sound like a VERY stupid question to many people here as a suspect that most of you have pretty advanced tech capabilities.

Question: can I use Kopia to make automatic, incremental backups to an external hard drive (not NAS, just old-fashioned plug and play)? The disk is already encrypted with Veracrypt. (I realise the hardrive would need to me mounted first, of course).

If not, is there other software that might be better suited?

Simply create a new local repository, point it to your drive and backup to it.

Thank you. I created the repository - the Veracrypt volume/assigned drive letter. I am now usign the Kopia snapshot function to backup.
