We have a number of our clients that have needed to restore something within their servers shared files while seated at their desktop. The average user (business owner) performing the restore does not understand how the filesystem directory is mapped to their file shares. So when clicking “Restore Files & Directories when they see a destination path they try \\servermatter\restores instead of the Linux servers actual path of /DATA/file_shares/restores
That’s just one example but of course there are many ways for a non-administrator type to get that wrong
If I could just set the “default” destination path to be /DATA/file_shares/restores they would always know where to find their restores and it would allow non-admins to at least get themselves out of a bind when needed
Is there a place where I can set the default destination path when restoring files on our servers ?
What sayeth the group?
