Where did Kopia restore my files to?

This one is weird for me, and I can’t figure it out.

My setup is a Windows client on which Kopia runs, and this PC then backs up to a remote NAS. I needed a previous version of a folder and through KopiaUI restored the folder.

Now the issue is that I copied the path to my desktop from the navigation bar in Explorer, but without noticing I only pasted “Desktop” into the destination field. I clicked “Being Restore” and no problem, except I couldn’t find the files on my desktop.

Upon further inspection I see that I accidentally restored to the path “Desktop”, instead of “C:\Users\…\Desktop”. I tried running it again to see if the log would spit out anything, but this time I got an error, as the folder already existed and was non-empty. That error didn’t happen the first time.

The problem is that I can’t find this “Desktop” folder anywhere. I’ve looked all places I can think of, I’ve even run a script on the Windows machine to see all folders created or changed within the time interval where I ran the restore, but nothing turns up with the name “Desktop”. Neither can I find the files contained within the folder that I restored.

The Linux server destination too has been checked, but I can’t find anything.

Anyone got an idea of where these files ended up?
