Hi,
the last stable release is over 3 years old. Is it reasonably safe to use the testing versions?
The installation path: http://packages.kopia.io/apt/ testing seems not to exist as described in the documentation.
I see that some development is taking place in the testing channel, but newcomers haven’t benefited from it for three years?
You can always find the latest versions (including Linux) on github releases page:
As for repo compatible distributions maybe indeed nobody is looking after them and they are terribly out of date.
There are no new releases on GitHub. Users have to compile it themselves, which deters 95% of users. It’s a shame—at least one release per year would attract new interested parties and prevent the software from looking so outdated…
Sorry but I think either there is some misunderstanding here or we are talking about two different things.
You can download binaries for most architectures either as deb or rpm (in case of Linux) from link I included.
The latest one is v0.21.1 released in July 2025.
PS. I would strongly advice not to use 3 years old kopia version. It is real old. Many things changed…
Thank you captain, Sorry I thought that July22 means July 2022….
