Is It Safe to Upload Kopia Repo to BackBlaze Personal?

So I am using KopiaGUI on Win10 to backup my main data, like C drive and some other drives (D, G), all to one Kopia Repository located on an external HDD (E drive).

Now this external HDD is backed up by BackBlaze Personal (the whole computer is). My backup strategy right now would be for Kopia to my primary backup, and BZ to be the last-resort if all local backups fail.

For now, I have excluded the Kopia repo folder from BZ Personal, as I was not sure if this is safe/recommended to let it be backed up. As far as I understand, there shouldn’t really be an issue, but I’d like to clarify from some experts please.

  1. Is it ok to let this Kopia repo get backed up by BZ Personal (NOT B2)? I mean would it interfere with Kopia’s own tasks in any way.
  2. If I download this Kopia repo in the future, in case of a total loss of local HDDs, would it be expected to work? BZ is supposed to mirror the repo exactly as is, but since there’s no documentation on BZ personal I’m not sure if things would work.
  3. Is there anyone who has a similar setup with BZ personal?

Appreciate any help. And if it’s not recommended, I’ll just keep it excluded and look at some other cloud storage options. Thanks.

Hi there!
There should be no issue letting Backblaze personal backup the Kopia repo.
If you were to download/recover the repo from Backblaze personal you should also have no issue connecting Kopia to it.
